FAQ: Darkplane: A Campaign Setting

Will you be selling this book once the project funds?

No, as of right now the book is meant as a gift. When I say that, I don’t mean “you give me money as a gift, I give you book as a gift.” That’s a transaction. Many of our backers are people who have played in Darkplane games in my home, friends’ homes, and at conventions and meetups. We’re a close-knit circle, and I see this project as a way to create a physical keepsake of those years of gaming that also draws new friends into the fold. Not a product. Not a business. A gift from friend to friend. We’re pooling money to create something we believe in. Last updated: Wed, Mar 18 2015 4:45 am EDT

How do I get access to the digital rewards like the one-shot adventures, the Gazetteer, and “The Desolation of Wellusk” extended adventure?

If you’ve pledged at $60 or higher, or if you’re a backer at the Digital Oblivion level, I’ll email you a link to the Google Drive folder that has the adventure files within 24 hours. The rest of the stretch goal rewards will be available with the finished setting. Last updated: Mon, Apr 13 2015 1:42 am EDT

What are the relative lengths of the adventures that come with my pledge?

The book itself will have a specific section dedicated to the city of Terratorumme, complete with quest hooks, NPCs, and events to spark a campaign. The digital adventure “The Sacrifical City” comes with pledge levels $20 and higher. It’s something you could play for 2-5 sessions over the course of a level or two. The boxed set comes with a longer, printed adventure “The Second Omen,” which spans levels 1-5. “The Desolation of Wellusk” is an extended adventure spanning levels 1-10 that was unlocked with one of the stretch goals. It’s available to the Digital Oblivion ($45) backers, and backers pledging $60 or more. “Black Vitollos” is an adventure spanning levels 10-15 available to all backers. The digital one-shots that are getting released with each stretch goal can be combined. Each one is at a sequentially higher level, so a DM can fill in some blanks between them to create a simple, quick level 1-10 adventure that spans the entire world. BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
